5 beauty investments for travelers

1- Invest in travel sizes

BIODERMA Sensibio H2O Make-up Removing Micelle Solution 100ml

Small bottles and containers are always the best options, even if you are traveling by car. Big bottles of shampoo and conditioner take too much space and we never use that much, anyway. The BIODERMA Sensibio H2O Make-up Removing Micelle Solution is one of my favourites and already comes in a 100ml package.

2- Oil-Control Blotting Paper

Pureness Oil-Control Blotting Paper

I can’t live without it! You just press over your face and it removes the oiliness, without removing your makeup!

3- Face cream

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré 75ml

A powerful face cream, like the Lait-Crème, from Embryolisse, can recover any damage you have done on your skin from either hot or cold weather. It is light and can be used even as a primer for makeup.

4- Dry shampoo

Elizabeth and James Nirvana White Dry Shampoo

It is a makeup bag life savior: it creates volume, masks any excessive oiliness and leaves the hair with a natural texture.

5- Light colored nail polish

CHANEL Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour

Dark and colourful enamels tend to get older faster. So, for long trips, light colored nail polishes (that are also lovely) make chips harder to see.

Hair Mist Favourites: My Current Top 5 Scents

One of the things I simply love and do not live without in life is perfume. I love to feel that I am smelling good. =] When I was young I had the habit of sprinkling fragrances on my hair, after all, it is delightful to smell a delicious aroma in the air when we shake our locks, right ?! Or when you are going to hug someone and that person has a lovely perfume on their hair.

There are also those occasions when we leave a restaurant with the smell of food in the hair, or even some smoke-smelling party or barbecue… Thinking about these, there is nothing better to help us on those occasions than hair mists, they exist, are many and varied, and can save our lives on many occasions.

Hair mists can be used every day, even for those who wash their hair more often. It is good not to overdo it so that the fragrance does not accumulate on the hair. It should be applied with a distance of 10 cm from the hair strands.

Currently, there are several versions on the market, with more or less fixing, but everything depends on your taste. Remember to be careful with the mixture of fragrances between your shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer and hair scent… Do not overdo it! If you, like me, love having scented hair, you will love today’s post! Here are the top 5 hair perfumes I am loving:

1- Valentino Donna Hair Mist: It is a sweet and striking hair scent. Suitable for those who like to leave their trail of fragrance in the air!

2- Angel by Mugler Perfuming Hair Mist: This makes your hair smells so good!  It isn’t as intense as the perfume, which I like. It also helps to neutralize unwanted odors.

Great product, small price 1

I am a huge fan of Bourjois products! They make great quality products that are easy to apply and lovely to wear, and fabulously affordable.

One of my long time favourites is the Cream Blush in the colour 01 Nude Velvet! This product is amazingly smooth and silky, with a delicate cream-to-powder formula wich feels comfortable on the skin. The finish is matte with no shimmer (or very subtle)  The colour payoff is pretty good, very natural and goes on effortlessly.

It provides a nice pink/peachy flush that looks very pretty. I apply this with my fingers and it blends nicely so you can get a realistic effect. The lasting power is decent on my oily skin. It last about as long as my foundation holds up.

I think this is the perfect little blush for those who are on-the-go and want a blush that goes on easily and is buildable. A great find!

Bomber Jacket

One of my favourite trendy pieces for this season is the bomber jacket, more specifically, the embroidered ones. I like those because the adornment gives them a luxe feel and then I can wear the jacket even on a casual Friday at work.  They give a light and versatile coverage, that you can wear all year long!

Long Cardigans

I am really enjoying to wear long cardigans on my outfits this season. They are cozy, add an extra warm layer and can look very stylish. You can cinch your waist with a belt or leave it open to flaunt the contrast beneath it.

It looks amazing with a destroyed jeans & tee (for a casual outfit), but it can also be used with a dress or trousers and shirt for a classier look. It is a great piece to use during the change of the seasons. An excellent buy!

My current favourite face primer

I love primers! Never again will I wear make-up without a good primer and a setting spray (my skin is quite oily). Today I am going to talk about a primer that I love and always go back to The BeneFit Cosmetics The POREfessional. I have tried several, mostly good, but this one is the best! I like this product because it makes my foundation go on so much more smoothly and evenly! It smells delightfully of citrus fruits and lays a great canvas for concealer and foundation alike. My skin feels soft, my pores are significantly minimized, and my makeup remains fresh looking all day long. A great buy!

Nail polish of the week

After a week with nude nails, I was ready for some colour! So I choose one of my favourites, Revlon Cherries in the Snow 270 Nail Enamel. It is medium-bright, pink-red opaque creme polish, classic and beautiful. The colour is different enough to stand off from all the other reds I own. Very feminine and elegant!

On my lips: Blondie Pink

I think Blondie Pink from Bobbi Brown is a great go-to pink lipstick! It is a pink nude very easy to wear, with enough colour to add some definition and warmth. The lipstick formulation is really good, it doesn’t dry out my lips and lasts several hours.

My current favourite mascaras

I love mascaras and use it daily, but I try not to keep many tubes of mascara on rotation because they go bad very easily (aprox. 3 to 4 months). Right now I have two mascaras that I have been using and really enjoying! One is from Clinique and the other from Lancôme. Both of them give a nice volume to my eyelashes when I´m doing everyday activities and also more drama for special occasions.
