Hairstyle inspiration for the weekend

Making a hairstyle with hair up can be a great option during the hottest days of the year. Ponytails are very versatile and can go from running errands during the day to formal parties. It is so pretty and so simple!

You can add volume to the front part of hair just following these simple steps:

1- Begin the style by creating a large triangle section of hair from your crown to the recession of your hairline.
2- Tease this triangle section. If your hair is super soft, add a little hairspray to the section for texture and hold.
3- Pull the teased triangle section of hair back towards your crown. Twist the hair, push it up a bit and secure with a bobby pin. Pushing up your section before securing it will give you added height.
4- Comb remaining hair back to the desired height of your ponytail. Pull tightly to keep the hair smooth.
5- Secure the ponytail with a hair band.
6- Take a small section of hair out of your ponytail, wrap it around the hair band and secure the ends of your section with a bobby pin underneath the band to conceal it and create a more polished look.

Hair Mist Favourites: My Current Top 5 Scents

One of the things I simply love and do not live without in life is perfume. I love to feel that I am smelling good. =] When I was young I had the habit of sprinkling fragrances on my hair, after all, it is delightful to smell a delicious aroma in the air when we shake our locks, right ?! Or when you are going to hug someone and that person has a lovely perfume on their hair.

There are also those occasions when we leave a restaurant with the smell of food in the hair, or even some smoke-smelling party or barbecue… Thinking about these, there is nothing better to help us on those occasions than hair mists, they exist, are many and varied, and can save our lives on many occasions.

Hair mists can be used every day, even for those who wash their hair more often. It is good not to overdo it so that the fragrance does not accumulate on the hair. It should be applied with a distance of 10 cm from the hair strands.

Currently, there are several versions on the market, with more or less fixing, but everything depends on your taste. Remember to be careful with the mixture of fragrances between your shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer and hair scent… Do not overdo it! If you, like me, love having scented hair, you will love today’s post! Here are the top 5 hair perfumes I am loving:

1- Valentino Donna Hair Mist: It is a sweet and striking hair scent. Suitable for those who like to leave their trail of fragrance in the air!

2- Angel by Mugler Perfuming Hair Mist: This makes your hair smells so good!  It isn’t as intense as the perfume, which I like. It also helps to neutralize unwanted odors.

Hairstyle inspiration for the weekend

This weekend I am willing to try something a bit more complex on my hair! And although the hair in the picture is long, I think this look can work for different lengths of hair (my hair is currently with a medium length)!

I think is a pretty hairstyle, not to trick to replicate at home and very put together! It can also go to several different occasions!

This hairstyle has two fancy braids that start from the sides and meet at the centre of the back of the head, where you should tie them into a simple pigtail. To make the braids to stay at the right place, you can apply hairspray and hidden hairpins.

You can also make the hairstyle more elegant by curling or really smoothing the loose part of the hair.

Graduation: The best hairstyles

One of the most awaited moments in the student’s life, the graduation deserves a production to match the event. However, with the gown covering the chosen look and the cap being the center of the attention in the head, it is necessary a little of creativity to enhance the look on the long awaited occasion. To receive the diploma in style, here are a few tips.

Straight and wavy hair are good options if you plan on using your hair loose

Loose hair is the bet of most women for graduation. A simple blow dry ensures smooth, beautiful hair in place all day long. For this option, invest in products that maintain the effect of the blow dry for a longer time, like anti-frizz products. The nervousness, the long hour under the sun (or strong lights of the stage) and the heat caused by the gown can cause sweat and frizz on the hair. With the blow dry finished, boost the shine of the hair with shine spray.

To escape from straight hair, one option is to curl the locks. There are several ways to make the Babyliss, creating definite curls or just light and wide waves, at the tips or the entire length of hair. To give more prominence to the whole loose hairstyle, bet on tiaras, loops or rhinestones, that do not fight with the cap.

Tied hair must be low and with no volume

Who wants to escape the traditional loose threads can bet on simple, low and volumeless hair so that the cap does not spoil or mark the hairstyle during the ceremony. Good options are the ponytail or tied on the lateral. The textured locks guarantee style and fade from the ordinary.

Braids please all styles

Braids are a great option for those looking for an enhanced look. There are several versions, such as traditional, embedded or fishbone. The options for any length of hair are endless and contemplate several styles. The braids also work as detail to turbine semi-tied hairstyles and buns.

Buns guarantee a sophisticated look

For graduation, buns should be low or lateral, with few undulations. The hairstyle is simple to make and guarantees a sophisticated look. Vary the style with twisted or braided strands, try a different strand from the one you normally wear or highlight the fringe.

Hairstyle inspiration for the weekend

Twisted hairstyles make a romantic look and are uncomplicated to do by ourselves. It is very versatile, going from brunch to a date night with ease.

To make sure it will stay in place for as long as you want, don’t forget to put it on with hairpins and hairspray.

This hairstyle can be easily done with a medium or long hair, and I think it can work even for people who like me, have far less volume than the one in the picture! Never be afraid to try a new hairstyle!

Gisele Bündchen at the Met Gala 2017

Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady arrived in style for the Met Gala in NYC on Monday. Gisele wore a stunning, form-fitting Stella Mccartney grey dress, and Tom cleaned up in a dark velvet suit jacket.Gisele and Tom are co-chairing the annual event with Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, and Caroline Kennedy. It’s the first time the supermodel and Super Bowl winner have attended the gala since 2014.

I loved how she mixed the metallics – silver gown and gold clutch. This, paired with the cuts on the dress made the whole outfit very current.

The hair was another nice touch. The ponytail (more casual) with the gala dress made the look fresh and sexy in a good way.

Here is a photo of her look she posted on Instagram before the event:

Fine hair care

Those who have fine hair know how hard it is to keep it healthy. The task is definitely not easy and so I’m going to give some very basic tips, but that will greatly help those who live this daily battle!

Let’s start by talking about brushing: the thinner threads are very delicate and, if not groomed carefully, they may break, causing that frizz that bothers women.  An alternative is to choose brushes without “balls” on the ends because they can twist and break the hair strands.

Another tip that makes all the difference is to use a pre-shampoo on the ends of the hair before washing it. It sounds silly, but that changes everything! The more delicate hair strands dry very much when they come in direct contact with the shampoo, so the order is always to protect it!

A recurring problem in fine hair is double ends because they appear more easily on fine strands. It is always very important to cut the tips of the hair frequently, usually, every two or three months.

Another recommendation is to never sleep with damp or wet hair! It is also important not to hold hair with elastic bands that have metal, they can screw on the strands and break them. Give preference to soft elastic bands with no metal or jaw clips.

Use nourishing products on your hair and treat it with a lot of care. The strands, previously dry and lifeless, will always look healthy and hydrated.
